    DESCRIPTION
    A motor boat with 2 or 3 separate cockpits and an inboard engine under the aft deck.
    From 16 foot à 30 foot with 1, 2 or 3 cockpits. The hull and the deck are usually mahogany.


    BUILD
    Built from the 1920's to the 1960's. The 2 most famous yards for building runabouts are Chris-Craft in the USA and Riva in Italy. But the most looked for are the small commercial or Canadian construction sites Gar Wood, Hacker, Gravette, etc.

    PRICE
    For a runabout in good working order and well maintained, budget a minimum of 28 000 € for a 17 footer. Some rare large models can exceed one million francs.

    Built from the 1920's to the 1960's :
    Varnished mahogany with the same finish as runabouts.
    Yards : Chris-Craft, Garwood, Hacker, etc
    .
    Painted clinker built hull, stronger and more seaworthy.
    Yards : Chris-Craft, Lyman, Thompson, etc.

    PRICE
    For a clinker built inboard open motor boat, in very good working order and well maintained, from 18 000 € for a 17 foot.
    For a varnished wood Utility with engine, wood and varnish in good condition, from 23 000 € for a 17 foot.
